Fair Warning on this one, the h and H play hide the lurve club while the h is still engaged to another man. This may be a deal breaker for some people, but it did help the h clarify her very doubtful feelings regarding her engagement. The h is a doctoral candidate in archaeology and she and her fiance who is also her boss, are setting out to recover an old shipwreck. They get to the appointed area and g Re Passionate Choice - FK brings us a tale of love at sea with a big, huge misunderstanding.

They get to the appointed area and guess who just happens to be part of the crew to help out? The man the h sailed all over with for close to a year three years earlier. They had an affair for the time they were sailing, but he had told her once they reached the end of the sailing journey, they would be done too. Indeed the H was serious, cause no sooner had they landed than another woman jumps into the H's arm's, kisses him and announces now they can have the wedding.

The h had fallen in love by this time and in an effort to save face, told the h she was returning to England to complete her advanced archaeology degree and the H said "Bye. When the H and h meet again, the h acts like she doesn't know the H and he goes along with it. They never talk about the past and instead try and track down who is pulling up relics from the shipwreck and selling them on the black market.

The h begins to suspect that her fiance is involved. She is also still passionately interested in the H and he is interested back, but the h does her best to hold out as she is still engaged. With the advent of a rather dubious woman that seems a might too interested in the h's fiance, the H and h figure out that she behind the black market offerings and she also got the h's fiance involved, as she needed a credible archaeologist to verify her findings so she could sell them for more.

When the H and h go diving to seek out the truth of black market offerings, the OW strands them on the beach and the H seduces the h. Then he dumps her after telling her she is cheat and needs to make a choice. The h confronts the OW and her fiance with the artifact smuggling and they both confess but essentially get away with it.

The h decides to end her engagement and chases off after the H, who has since sailed away. The h hunts him down and gets a lot of flack from the H's friend for being a cheater - I have mixed feelings about it, the h was a bit too eager to spend time with the H and was also seriously thinking that she needed to break things off with the fiance, however the H is the seducer on the beach and wouldn't take no for an answer. Anyways the h finds the H, they wind up sailing for week together and then when they get to the H's home port, the same woman comes out to greet the H, this time with a kid.

The h is furious because the H accuses her of cheating and treats her like dirt and then has a wife and kid - she guesses cheating doesn't count if it isn't on land. Then the h finds out the woman is the H's sister in law and married to the H's brother. They were waiting for the H to get back from his sailing journey three years ago to hold the wedding.

The sister in law invites the h to stay at the family island home and puts her in the H's room. The h and the H finally talk about the beach incident and his subsequent treatment and he gives her a bunch of lines about how she tempted him too much, he had to break his own man code to be with her and that he had signed up for the archaeology dive to see what had happened to the h. So in other words, it was the h's own fault that he seduced her. He also adds that he still resents that the h chose her career over him. I actually did not buy this explanation from the H, the h kept telling him no, she did not want to be a lurve club holder and also the H was in England and never looked the h up once in three years, he was too busy with his other relationships or affairs or whatever.

Then the h explains that she left him three years earlier because of the way his sister in law greeted him with kisses and wedding plans, the H acts shocked that she would think that, but I wasn't buying it. I think he did it deliberately - he had the opportunity to introduce the sister in law to the h and the h also reminds him that he told it would be over once the docked. The H acts angry that she can't read his mind, Margaret Pargeter where are you and your aluminum foil when we need you?

Then he declares that the sex is so great and he is ready to settle a bit, so a long as the h gives up her career and educational goals and settles into his brood mare and housekeeper, they can marry and HEA and it really isn't cheating if it isn't on terra firma. This one wasn't awful, but there was the technical cheating aspects - though it was close to forced seduction and the fiance was VERY involved with the OW during this whole thing and I just don't like the books where the h chases the H, unless they do it with a ton of style which this h did not have.

The story is readable and there was some good chemistry so if none of the previous bothers you, this might be an ok time filler for an afternoon. When she meets the man who will be helping, Stella is shocking to discover that it is Kit, the hero, the man she spent nearly a year living with three years ago.

Worried about what her finance's reaction may be, Stella pretends she doesn't know Kit and relieved when he plays along. When she and Kit get the chance to talk, Stella asks him to keep up the pretence but being alone with him reminds her of the time they spent together and how much she loved him, and how hurt she was when their relationship ended. But the passion between them has never died and she finds it difficult to ignore it the longer they spend together.

Stella and Kit work together to find out the truth and rekindle their relationship, but Stella holds back remembering her heartbreak from three years ago. This is an interesting and enjoyable book, and quite forward for an older one.

Let me be frank…

I enjoyed the setting, the author did a great job of describing the surroundings and situations with real depth. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is really well done, with plenty of spark and tension. I had a couple of issues with the book though. First, is that that the heroine pursues the hero while she is still engaged, which is a little distasteful. Secondly, when the hero and heroine have their HEA, the hero insists she gives up her studies and just be his wife - I know this book is nearly twenty years old but, wow, that annoyed me!

But, the book is enjoyable; nice writing and an well executed story. View 1 comment. Dec 01, Lyraa Levine rated it did not like it.

Eight ways to find the true passion in life that has eluded you

One of the books i left halfway because i was filled with so much disgust for the heroine that i couldnt continue reading.. The heroine is engaged to somebody else and cheats on him with the hero and looks forward to cheating on him giving excuses like i didnt realize i was cheating.. Even after that incident she is happy that her fiancee has agreed to marry her and goes to tell that to the hero.. Rating: 2. Jun 19, Alessandra rated it liked it Shelves: mills-and-boon.
