The illustrations are gorgeous and the original rhyming story is ok, but with no inclusion of the lyrics to the song, this package felt incomplete to me.

I wanted to read this book because it shares a title with a beloved song and uses that connection in its marketing summary. It was such a disappointment, therefore, that the song was not even included in the actual book! I felt robbed because the song was what made me want to get this book. I was looking forward to passing this book on as a gif The illustrations are gorgeous and the original rhyming story is ok, but with no inclusion of the lyrics to the song, this package felt incomplete to me. I was looking forward to passing this book on as a gift to family and did not because it could've been better.

I really appreciate the book's depiction of a big old blended, extended modern family—because it mirrors my own, and so many other families today.

Ashman's joyful rhyming text bounces along as the families navigate planes, trains, automobiles, boats, a hot air balloon and, in a fitting nod to the original song, a horse-drawn sleigh.
